Welcome!  Alexander introductory intensives are open to anyone interested in learning more about the Alexander Technique and it's benefits for health and well-being.  The aim of Alexander lessons is to teach you how to unlearn harmful habits of use and reaction that interfere with mind/body integration, balance and natural breathing.  Alexander lessons are preventative, rehabilitative and have stress and pain management benefits.

After two consecutive days of gentle hands-on guidance to balance your head, neck and back relationship, you will notice a marked difference in your general manner of use and how you function and breathe in every day activities.  The new experience of stopping harmful habits and directing your manner of use heightens sensory awareness (the kinaesthetic sense) which allows you to become more conscious of your use during daily activities, and can make way for on-going change and freedom from harmful habits and poor postural use.

The intensives are especially beneficial to those who suffer; stress and anxiety, postural aches and pains, chronic or recurrent back pain, tension headaches, performance anxiety, vocal problems and breathing difficulties.  Health professionals and those interested in behavioural change will begin to understand the importance of mind/body integration for psycho-physical and emotional balance and maturity.

The intersive will also explore:-
  • Why we need a heightened sensory (kinesthetic) awareness.
  • Why your manner of use affects the way you function and react.
  • How Alexander lessons make way for on-going change and freedom from habit.
  • The psychophysical, emotional and behavioral benefits that accompany lessons.
  • Voice & Breathing...without exercises!
