The Alexander Technique Institute Teacher Training School opened on Sydney's North Shore in July 2002. The school is offering a competency based three year graduate training course for those wishing to become teacher / practitioners of the F.M. Alexander Technique. The class size is kept small with 7-10 trainees only. Trainee intake is at the commencement of each term in January, April, June and September for 2008. The school is fully accredited by the professional society AUSTAT, the Australian Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique. The teacher / student ratio is 1:5. Upon graduation students are awarded a certificate that is recognised by the International Affiliated Societies including STAT (London), AmSAT (USA) and European affiliated societies.
